I Feel a DIY project coming on. I came across a website, studsandspikes.com, where you can order all sorts of different studs...different colors, sizes, shapes, tool kits, etc. I have a lot of pieces in my closet that I would consider really good blank canvases to experiment on. A plain black clutch, black pumps, white tees...can't wait!
Thank you for taking time to visit my blog. I love to create, whether it's putting outfits together, styling hair, painting, making jewelry, choreographing, cooking, writing, etc. As humans, I think we feel most alive when we are creating something unique, something one of a kind. I would like to share with you things that I create, things that I love, and things that I think are clever. I hope that this will inspire you to share, grow, and create!

I Heart Dogs
1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be painful... remember that before you get me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me- it is crucial to my well being.
4. Do not be angry at me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment.
5. You have your work, your entertainment, and your friends. I only have you.
6. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me.
7. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget.
8. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you.
9. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I might not be getting the right food, or I have been out too long, or my heart is getting too old and weak.
10. Take care of me when I get old; you too will grow old. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I cannot bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there, even my death. Remember that I love you.

Bangs Are Fun!
I am really liking bangs right now. It's a fun and easy way to update your look. I am leaning more towards longer bangs because they are a lot more versatile.

Ornament Chandelier - DIY
So, I get on "kicks" all of the time, whether it's stalking a certain celeb's style, ordering the same Wendy's salad over and over, obsessing over shades of red lipstick, etc. Right now, I'm kind of obsessed with coming up with ideas for chandeliers. A REALLY easy, holiday-inspired chandelier is easy to make. I saw a cool display in a store that inspired me to make this fun, Christmas chandelier. It consists of glue, glitter, yarn, and clear Christmas ornaments. It's so simple to put together, and you can choose any color of yarn or ornaments.
Cheers!

Happy Monday
"Let go of what has passed. Let go of what may come. Let go of what is happening now. Don't try to figure anything out. Don't try to make anything happen. Relax, right now, and rest."

FIERY LIPS.......
The Olsen Sistas |
I think this time of year, a bold lip is always fun. Red lips are definitely a classic look to me, and I feel like the look has been really popular lately. When I think of red lips I think of Gwen Stefani, Mad Men, and all things retro and vintage. I think that red lips have the ability to take a look from being just alright to being exciting and fun. Don't think that you aren't able to pull this look off. Here are some tips that might help convince you to try it:
- To avoid looking like a clown, apply minimal eye makeup...a few coats of mascara should do, and use a light, soft blush.
- If your complexion is more pink, choose plum shades, and if it's more yellow, choose warmer shades with a brown base.
- If you think you chose a shade that's too bright, blend other lip colors to create an ideal shade for yourself.

Lust Have..............
Holiday Brights...
Photo: J. Crew |
Bright colors are very in and of the moment this Holiday season, and I think it's a really fun alternative to the expected, sparkly pieces. I'm especially loving royal blue and teal. I think the key to pulling off this look in every day life is to pick a piece, like turquoise trousers and pair with more basic colors and pieces, such as a black sweater, black pumps, and a statement necklace. Or, go bold and mix bright pieces like the photo above, SO cute! The pops of color are sure to brighten up those gloomy, winter days...Cheers!
J. Crew cashmere lined leather gloves $98 How AMAZING do these sound? jcrew.com |
WOW! These are ridiculously amazing. Dries Van Noten $927 http://www.driesvannoten.com/info-shops.php |
These are so bold and fabulous. If I ever got my hands on these I would pair them with cropped black trousers, a black tee, a mens-inspired black blazer, a great necklace, red lips, and BAM! Loeffler Randall, $595 http://loefflerrandall.com/LRProduct.aspx?ProductID=403&CategoryID=90 |
Satin Palazzos, Anthropologie $228 anthropologie.com |
The colors are pretty bold here, but to me it works, and I love it! |
J. Crew silk faille trousers $350 (Ohhhh, if money were no object) jcrew.com |
I am lusting after these teal, silk trousers! In person, they are amazing and they have a skirt-like movement. I think I might have to get them. I would pair with a fitted black tee, black pumps, a sparkly necklace, and last but not least...a bright red lip! Anthropologie, $138 anthropologie.com |

The Sartorialist: Mr. Scott Schuman
Mr. Scott Schuman
I love, LOVE to just people-watch sometimes. I especially like to look at what people are wearing, and especially in trendy little NYC nooks. I love the creative, brilliant energy of so many intelligent, bright, goal-oriented people just walking together down the street. There's nothing like it. I like to observe how other people interpret fashion and see how they put outfits together. It gives me more ideas of how I can expand and mix up my own wardobe.
Photographer and blogger Scott Schuman captures this energy so perfectly. His blog is a must see for people watchers and fashion lovers.
"Founder/blogger/photographer Scott Schuman began The Sartorialist with the idea of creating a two-way dialogue about the world of fashion and its relationship to daily life.
In addition to the blog, Schuman’s work has been featured in GQ, Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris, and Interview; for GQ, Schuman shot and edited his own page for over three years..." Source: http://www.thesartorialist.com/biography/
Scott's work is so amazing, and I think it is just fabulous that he is bold and brave enough to go up to so many strangers to ask for a photograph...inspiring! http://www.thesartorialist.com/

HEAD GEAR...
This topic seemed to be approriate for today since it was such a rainy, humid day...
Some days a girl just wants to slick her hair back and not worry about it for the day. However, you still want to feel pretty. My solution: an embellished headband. I'm LOVING Deepa Gurnani headbands. I got mine in NYC, but you can find them online, and now-a-days headbands are so popular and they come in so many different styles and price points. Celebs spotted wearing Deepa Gurnani include: Leighton Meester, Mary-Kate Olsen, Natalie Portman, Taylor Swift & Katie Holmes.

VINTAGE RING BLING!
Alright, being a girl who loves all things fashion, of course I'm going to have an opinion on engagement rings. I'm by no means getting engaged soon, but for a while now I have been obsessed with vintage/art deco engagement rings. There's something about them that is so charming. They just seem so unique and special. I think there's something romantic about the simple 1920s look.
I absolutely love this ring. It's a 1900s mine cut, cluster diamond ring. I'm usually not a big fan of gold bands, but this works. |
1 CARAT old european-cut diamond encircled with 12 circular-cut diamonds mounted in platinum, circa 1925 |
The more I look, the more I love this sapphire and diamond ring. 18kt white gold art deco, 1.78ct Old European-cut diamond |
Art Deco inspired diamond sapphires and emeralds platinum engagement ring. |
I couldn't really find much information on this ring, but I think it is just fabulous. |
